Arlington Mills ResidencesE-Landscape has recently started work installing the landscape for a new 122-unit affordable apartment building in Arlington, Virginia. Located on the north portion of the Arlington Mill site on Dinwiddie Street and adjacent to the new Community Center and Glen Carlyn Park, the Arlington Mill Residences will be a 4-story, family-friendly building featuring a community room and underground parking. The building will achieve EarthCraft certification and will incorporate many green design features including highly efficient heating and cooling systems and EnergyStar rated appliances.

The Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) is the project developer.  Ninety-nine percent (121 of 122 units) will be affordable to households earning at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The new residential building will include eight efficiencies, 16 one-bedroom units, 73 two-bedroom units, and 25 three-bedroom units. Thirteen of the units will be dedicated as supportive housing units for persons earning very low incomes, at or below 40 percent of the AMI, and who are also clients of Arlington County’s Supportive Housing program.  An additional thirteen units will be leased to families earning at or below 50 percent of the AMI.

Together the buildings will form the core of the “Neighborhood Center,” one of four major mixed use centers along the Pike within the Columbia Pike Special Revitalization District.

E-Landscape’s scope of work for the Arlington Mills Residences includes on-structure soil, planting, pavers, masonry steps, irrigation, and the installation of site furnishings and play equipment.
